1914 HMAS Sydney - SMS Emden Medal 1885 Mexico mint 8 Reales (silver dollar) converted into a contemporary Jewellers copy of a Medallion by Kerr with a watch chain attachment. No doubt worn by a veteran/descendant of the engagement. (P)

HMAS Sydney CWWI commemorative plate featuring the HMAS Sydney which destroyed the Emden & Capt John Glossop the Captain of the HMAS Sydney. Porcelain 180mm marked on the back Allied Navies Series Paragon China England. A similar plate sold for $650+ comm in a Sydney Nov14 auction.

1920s Kreuzer Emden enamel badge. Profile of the Emden sailing right by Ferd Wagner, Pforzhem. Pin removed, silver wear but full enamel with no chipping. Scarce. (P)

Photo: Framed & glazed of Robert Witthoeft, torpedo officer on the SMS Emden that was sunk by the HMS Sydney off Cocos keeling Islands. Witthoeft was wounded during the battle. The photo taken on a US ship ca 1934 shows Witthoeft in naval uniform, Iron Cross 1st Class on his breast, hat with 3rd Reich eagle with swastika. He was a German Navy Vice-Admiral in WWII. Signed "thank you" in margin.
