21838 Click for more photos | 1914-18 Submariner 1914-15 Star trio. All impressed officially '272409 A.W.V. LEGGATT, ERA.3, RN.' Alfred Walter Vincent Leggatt, born Portsmouth, 1891, enl RN, aged 12, 1909. Graded Engine Room Artificer 1915, to HMS 'Dolphin' Nov 1917 to Jan 1919, thence to 'Royal Arthur' & 'K15' Jan 1919 to Dec 1920 (renamed 'PANDORA' to 1921). Disch 1929, HMS's 'Dolphin' & 'Royal Arthur' were submarine depot or tender/training ships. 'K-15' was a 'K' Class submarine commissioned April 1918. She sank off Portsmouth due to accident & was sold off in August 1924. His records indicate that Leggatt was actually posted to 'K-15' as crew, rather than as tender crew. On original ribbons. gVF.
