J W Smith, Hamps. R.' William Joseph Smith, born Eastleight, Hants, ca 1890. Entered Gallipoli theatre 25/4/1915. The Hampshires formed part of the body of troops aboard the converted Collier 'River Clyde' at the Gallipoli landing. 3 days later, Smith was KIA at 1st Krithia.
