The large bone handled deck knife probably caWWI is British Naval Seaman's single bolster pattern, made by Ford & Medley, Sheffield under the EMU brand. The company became insolvent in 1928 & was founded in the 1870s. Fitted with a heavy bail/loop for a lanyard. Impressive knife with good age, by a top maker. Handle undamaged, clean blade. The chequered alloy handle Sailor's deck knife is dated 1943. As issued to British Commonwealth Sailors & some specialised AIF units. Minor pitting to blade which is a little loose. Plus two stainless steel yachting deck knives of post WWII manufacture. Nice condition. The early British Naval deck knife is hard to find. It is in great condition. (4) | SOLD at A$180 |
