20789 Click for more photos | Army WWI Greatcoat of Officer's private purchase quality. Has black leather football type buttons of early manufacture. 2 missing from epaulettes, 1 found in pocket 2 buttons to ea cuff. Made of heavy wool outer & lined, in slightly lighter wool. This is British Warm pattern, which was popular in WWI. Two inner white cotton pockets, gas protector on 2 internal buttons, slit for sword. No rear belt adjustment straps. Shoulder strap joiners worn & missing. 2 captains AIF shoulder straps & WWI captain tunic straps & WWI Captain tunic straps also found in pocket, these last came from an early wool officer tunic and were cut off They would make excellent replacements. This greatcoat is extremely scarce. Very few WWI greatcoat have survived. A must have! | SOLD at A$600 | ||
