20653 Click for more photos | New Zealand 1914-18 Infantry. Scarce 1918 dated 'Lemon Squeezer' slouch hat, stitched brim (3x line), with provision for chin strap (steel hook chin strap posts). Maker name to liner difficult to read but date clear. Pugaree with maroon fold (Veterinary Corps) & with brass KC NZ Veterinary Corps badge to front. Small moth to crown peak & holed to rear o/w VGC. Note: Vets were attached to all Mounted Units inc French & Middle-East Theatres of War. Much rarer than Australian WWI slouch hats. (P) | SOLD at A$3000 | ||
