Ukiyo-e original multi-coloured woodblock print triptych, 'The Bravery of Captain Matsuzaki (killed in action) During the Great Fierce Battle at Anseong/Anson/Ansong Crossing' 28 Jul 1894, by Mizuno Toshikata (1866-1908) depicting Captain Matsuzaki Nao'omi (1856 - 29 Jul 1894, killed in action), also recognised as the very first Japanese casualty of the war, biography from the British Museum included, leading his team to outflank the Chinese Army defences by crossing the Anseong river during the Battle of Seonghwan (Asan) (approx 39.4x80cm).
