France. WWI Battle of Vendun framed shadow box display with 8 different French Verdun medals. The battle of Verdun, between 21 Feb & 18 December 1916, was a brutal battle with nearly 300,000 dead French & German soldiers, many of whom have no grave. It was the main reason for Haig's Somme offensive in July 1916. Very nice display with 8 different Verdun medals. Very impressive.

Russia - USSR 1944 - Order of Motherhood Medals. Complete set of the six grades (5-10 children). Silver & enamels. Motherhood Medal 2nd Class & 1st Class, Glory of Motherhood 3rd Class, 2nd Class & 1st Class. Order of the Motherhood Heroine, No 222539 in gold & silver (gold value approx $500). The safety pin has been removed from each medal to allow them to sit flat in the display. All very nicely & professionally mounted in a glazed wooden display frame. Established 1944, the Mootherhood Orders & Medals were awarded to mothers who had raised or adopted 5-10 children. A rare complete set. Frame size roughly 47x36cm. VGC.
