Bayonet. Pattern 1876 socket bayonet with scabbard for the Martini Henry dated 5/84. Has sold out of service mark. Both scabbard & bayonet have matching numbers & one WD marked. Blade is nice with scattered grey patches that could be polished out. No blueing left on metal parts just surface darkening patina. About 1/3 of the scabbard stitching (at the top) is loose.

Bayonet. Pattern 1888 bayonet on all metal scabbard, MK I type 2, dated 1890. No unit markings. Refurbished 1898, 1899. Unusual metal scabbard painted black (some time ago) is unknown to us (maybe rare?). Blade & metal work have been cleaned/polished. Blade has cpl light grey spots. GC.

Bayonet. Pattern 1888 bayonet in leather scabbard, RARE MKI type 1, dated 2/90. With three rivets to the handle. Unit marked to DY (Derbyshire Regt). Several refurbish dates & a sold out of service mark on the blade. Metalwork & blade have been polished, bright blade. Front wood grip has letters roughly carved into it & some dings. Very Scarce

Bayonet. Pattern 1888 bayonet, MKI type 2, dated 7/95 in issue scabbard. Used with Lee Metford rifle. Unit marked to 4 Battalion KOSB. Scabbard is maker marked & dated (1901?). Bayonet numbered 184 & scabbard numbered 183. Service wear with metalware polished on bayonet. Blade is clean, except for small pitting at base (cleaned).

Bayonet. Pattern 1895 socket bayonet with scabbard for Martini Enfield, refurbished Oct 1900 (probably for the Boer War). WD marked to bayonet & scabbard. Socket has 90% of blueing. Blade is nice with no noticeable pitting & has old grease. Stitching on the second half of the scabbard is loose due to leather shrinkage & is therefore tight.

Bayonet 1950 Mark 1, Number 9 pattern. Marked on socket with broad arrow & 'POF61'. GC, retaining much of its blackened finish. No scabbard.

Pocket Knives: Collection of approx 45 mostly diff knives. Inc 4 British/Australian Military pattern, 3 are all metal type (2 are Army marked) & 1 is made in Japan. All 3 knives have damage/corrosion issues. The last Military knife is the black chequered type & made without the can opener, no Military marks/dates. The other knives are quite varied & made from various materials ('ivory', pearl, wood, plastic etc). Noticed a long slender (4½'') German made knife with 'ivory' handles. Also a Telstra issue Electrician's knife & a slender knife with rounded tip (by IXL, Wostenholm, Sheffield) Another 'ivory' handled knife seems to have a name & year 1882 scratched on it (small blade broken) & a small knife with advertising. All knives are used, some have damage or missing parts. Some vintage knives in this lot. Worthy of inspection. (approx 45)

Pocket Knives. Collection of 29 diff inc 5 British Military pattern/single. Military knives inc an all metal Royal Navy (also RAN & AIF) knife with chequered alloy handles (no date), 2x Army plastic handled knives (one dated 1941 has broken blade & the other is undated), all metal clasp knife. Australian issue 1987 & a large fibre handled knife (not dated & possibly Military). Other knives are of various ages & styles. Noticed a nice bill hook knife with bone handle (by Humphrey's & Co Sheffield), an advertising knife by Southern & Richardson , Sheffield. Various conditions, all are used. Some are damaged/over sharpened/incomplete. (29)

Pocket Knives: Collection of 11 diff knives with 2 Military marked & WWII made & 4 Military style, probably WWII. The other 5 probably Commercial. Inc 1941 dated Army knife with unusual black fibre grips (one side has a crack). The other marked Army knife is all metal & made by CARR, an uncommon Australian maker with issue leather belt loop & is WWII made (by the style of the can opener). Lot also inc nice bone handle knife with the early blade can opener by McYeoman's, Sheffield & an unusual Joseph Rogers knife blade with bottle opener. The remaining 4 Military looking knives have no Military marks or dates. They are probably caWWII & private purchase items. All knives are used & some have damage/wear. Interesting & varied lot. (11)

Pocket Knives, British Military pattern (5) dating from ca1930-77. Military knives inc 2x chequered black handled examples with marlin spikes. These were introduced in ca1939. One is dated 1948, the other has no markings visible. Two further knives are Australian all metal knives of which one is WWII (Whitingslowe) & the other issued in 1977. The last is an unmarked fibre handle variant (probably war-time) but has the knife broken off. The civilian knives inc a handsome bone handled knife made by Richard Mehlvish Ltd Sheffield. It is a good size & has two blades & a copper bail. Made post 1906 so probably 1920s or 30s. Nice. The other two knives inc an unusual bone handled knife by Wingfield & Co Sheffield (blade is heavily worn down) & a simple all metal knife with no maker name. Some wear/minor damage. The knife by Melhvish is of note. (8)

Sword 1827 pattern light infantry officers sword possibly to Royal Irish Constabulary. Curved blade is fullered at back. Blade is in very good condition with crowned VR cypher to both sides, 32" long & maker marked 'Sexton, Dawson St Dublin' hand guard has the Irish Crown & harp with QVC. Minor surface rust. Sharkskin grip still 99 percent intact. With original scabbard, this has a few dings. VGC. Rare sword maker.

Sword army, 1853 pattern curved cavalry sword & scabbard. Plain fullered blade marked QVC over '7' also marked with the image of a centurion in helmet & the letter 'B' to the back of the blade. Some edge knocks. Slight pitting to blade & the chrome over the handle & scabbard is starting to bubble. Would clean up nicely. VGC.

Sword: 1897-1901 Infantry Officer Sword, Pattern 1897. 'VR' cypher & Queen Victoria crown to pierced half-bowl guard. Blade heavily worn & with surface pit but with evidence of foliate decoration & Royal Arms. No maker mark evident. Guard & hilt fitting re-chromed. Grip with wire bound white sharkskin. In its brown leather covered wood scabbard (this in need of some minor TLC). VGC

Sword. Army Officers 1897 pattern infantry sword with field brown leather scabbard. No maker's name to blade which is decorated, crown, flowers, etc. KC, ERI to Guard & ER VII to blade. Handle has surface rust & blade has minor pitting. In its original brown leather fields scabbard with some minor blemishes. GC.

Sword: 1901-11 British India Army Officer Sword, pattern 1897 with 'E.R.I.' (Edward Rex, Imperial), cypher to sheet steel guard, blade marked 'Wilkinson, London' (dubious?) & 'I/ISI' beneath broad arrow with date stamp: 'I/09' (January 1908) to opposite ricasso face. Plain, straight blade, fullered each side, plain sheet steel guard with pierced decoration, sharkskin bound wood grip in its broad, brown leather covered wood scabbard with sheet steel locket & chape. Locket with ovoid frog stud. Blade worn, chips to sharkskin, overall VGC. Possibly intended for use by local officers or senior NCO's.
