WW2 RARE FALLSHIRMJAGER (PARATROOPER) BURLAP KIT BAG. Initially used to stow the entire parachute including the carry bag, these bags were utilised for the carrying of all manner of personal kit, rations and weaponry. Made of a heavy-duty light green burlap material with 2 large re-enforced canvas handles. The canvas material from the handles continues on around the bag as a form of re-enforcement. 7 large press-studs marked "ZIEH HIER" & "DRP" for securing the top flap. Missing one of the female and male fittings, so only 5 of the 7-press studs function. Large hole in the base of the bag approx 80mm by 50mm & several smaller ones including one that has a field repair. These are not seen when the bag is displayed upright. No markings to be seen. These bags are rarely seen on the market. Grade II-

WW2 M1931 RUCKSACK FOR MOUNTAIN TROOPS (Rucksack 31 for Hochgebirgstruppen). Constructed from olive-green water-repellent canvas approx. 50cm high, 54cm wide and can be expanded up to approx. 25-35cm in depth. Black and brown leather straps, tabs and re-enforcement for the white metal buckles. Three piece construction with the rear section also providing the material for the base. Separately attached top flap, secured with 3 leather straps. Reverse section of the top flap has a large pouch made of white cotton material secured with 3 leather straps. Top of the inner main rucksack fastened with a drawstring cord running through 10 zinc metal eyelets. Smaller outer pocket to the centre lower front secured with 2 leather straps. Long narrow pockets to each side of the main rucksack, secured with a single leather strap to each. Two adjustable leather straps for wearing the rucksack are secured to a large thick brown leather tab to the top of the rear and sewn directly on to the material to the lower. Marked to the re-enforcement tab with the RB Nr '0/08360029'. Overall the leather adjustment straps are showing some wear and could do with some leather conditioner. A superior example showing only minor signs of wear. Grade II+ (P)
