RARE 1898 SPANISH-AMERICAN WAR VETERAN'S MEDAL. A bronze cross within a wreath of laurel leaves, the circular centre of the cross depicts a soldier and a sailor with a prisoner? and a ship in the background. Wording to the inner circumference 'Spanish War Veterans 1898 - 1902'. Further wording to the arms of the cross 'CUBA. U.S.A. Philippines Islands. Porto Rico'. Centre reverse has the word 'United'. Ornate suspender in the form of a cannon, anchor, crossed sword and rifle with the word 'United'. Coloured ribbon (slightly faded) depicting an American Flag. The ribbon has a rectangular brass clasp with a gilt border, inner blackened section with a small silver American Coat of Arms to the centre. Ornate bronze brooch pin in the form of a laurel leaves wreath with an American eagle and shield. All bronze components have an oxidized finish. Grade II- (P)

CIVIL WAR 1936-1939 CAMPAIGN MEDAL. Awarded to all Nationalist (Fascists) participants in the war. Die struck metal with gilded detail. Obverse features a lion representing the Nationalists (under General Franco), slaying a griffin, with a hammer and sickle on its wings, representing the Republican forces. C/w the original ribbon and hanging device. An impressive looking medal. Grade II- (P)
