Germany: WWI HELMET PLATE RECOGNITION BOOKLET "Die Helmwappen und Namenszuge der Deutschen Armee" Reprinted from the original manufacturer's (Paul Meybauer) display brochure. Older reprint, possibly Third Reich period. Black and white plates. Large format, each of the 4 loose-leaf pages measures approx 31cm by 38.5cm. Paper now yellowing with age. Printed on thick card like paper in black and white, showing the different helmet front plates & cyphers of the German Army. Outer folder of thick tan coloured card. In very good condition overall with only minor soiling from handling. Valuable reference source for the collector or those with an interest in WWI history. Grade II+

Germany: WW2 RARE SS FELDPOST CONCERNING A SS-STURMANN IN THE 10th SS PANZER DIVISION 'FRUNDSBURG' THAT WENT MISSING IN ACTION NEAR CAEN IN FRANCE ON 10th JULY 1944. Outer envelope and letter. Envelope has two nice clear eagle and swastika ink stamps to the obverse and hand written in ink is 'SS-Feldpost". Feldpost number '29 638 D' on the letter identifies the unit as a component of 'Frundsburg'. Is addressed to the 'Ortsgruppenleiter' (Local Group Leader) of the town where the missing soldier was born. Simple half A4 size typed letter dated '29/07/44 and signed by a SS-Hauptscharfuhrer. Twin hold punch to both envelope and letter. O/a age related yellowing to the paper, small tear to letter. An interesting and sort after late war SS item. Grade II (P)
