1853 PATTERN CAVALRY TROOPER'S SWORD. Black chequered leather grips, slightly shrunken due to age/storage conditions. Three-bar, malleable wrought iron guard. Slightly curved, heavy, single fullered, spear pointed blade with a German manufacturer’s knights head logo to the ricasso (Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie). Dent - free steel scabbard with two suspension rings, missing one screw from the scabbard throat. Very light pitting to all metal components which have been cleaned. This pattern sword was used in the charge of the Heavy Brigade at Balaclava during the 1854-1856 Crimean War. Licence required in Victoria. Grade II- (P)

CIRCA 1840 LIFE GUARDS (HOUSEHOLD CAVALRY) OFFICER'S FULL DRESS SWORD. Brass wire bound wooden grip. Brass hilt mounts and a brass boat shell guard with an upswept quillion Straight spear pointed blade, double edged and with a blued finish. No scabbard. A rare sword. Ex Dalton Collection.
