Australia: PRE-FEDERATION SMALL MILITARY BINOCULARS IN CASE. Black enamel painted finish over brass with brown leather covering to the centres. Stand 65mm high, 89mm high when fully extended. 92mm in width. No visible markings. Good clear working optics. Black tarred finish to the leather case which has a maroon cotton lining. The lining is still intact but with light o/a soiling, unfortunately the top cover of the case is now missing. AUSTRO-HUNGARIAN WW1/2 AMMUNITION POUCHES. Two pair of twin brown leather pouches for the M1895 Steyr-Mannlicher rifle. Both are complete and in very good condition with no damage to the leather. Both have black painted steel 'D' rings to the reverse. Ink stamps to the interior of one pair dated '1917'. These pouches were extensively used throughout WW1 by Austro-Hungarian troops and in to WW2 by the Hungarians. Hard to find in this condition. Grade II

AUSTRO-HUNGARIAN WWI MODEL 1895 PICKAXE WITH LEATHER CARRIER. Steel pickaxe head with hardwood handle and brown leather carrier. Introduced for Jaeger troops in 1896 and infantry in 1897. Leather carrier is in good supple condition. From 1915 onwards the leather carrier was replaced with a cloth and tin version to conserve leather supplies. Split to the eyelet that secures the carrier to the pickaxe head. A very similar example is featured on page 463 of the excellent reference book "The Emperor's Coat" by Rest/Ortner/Iiming (2002). O/a in exceptional condition given that it is approx 100+ years old. Grade II

Each individual suspender consists of a single piece of adjustable canvas strap that has a clip to one end and a blackened steel ring on the other.
