The Picturesque Atlas of Australasia by Hon Andrew Garran, 1886, in 3 volumes totalling 800pgs, plus maps. A lavishly illustrated descriptive work which also covers the history, geography & development of the Australian Colonies. Contains over 800 engravings on wood. A superb production which is becoming scarcer all the time as they are broken up for the superb engravings which are individually framed. (P)

ca 1840 Port Arthur Large Door Key. Wrought iron, reputed by vendor to have come from the Port Arthur Penal Establishment, Tasmania. Light, punch engraved letters or numbers to the double-hole flange, single 'L' section tine showing much use. The design & size are certainly consistent with penal usage & possibly a product of the prison foundry. Sadly with no supporting provenance. (P)
