1860 folded letter wrapper franked QV Halflength 3d deep blue perf 12 by Robinson used in combination with QV Emblem 1d green, tied by barred cancel on (9 Feb) cover Melbourne to Portland. Interestingly the 3d is a very deep blue shade like the Campbell & Ferguson 9th printing (SG 31c) while the good quality paper with vertical mesh confirms it to be Campbell 6th printing (SG 24 as expected), so this is an extremely rare deep shade from the correct Campbell printing. VF fresh, stamps previously lifted for examination & replaced. SG 78(var) & 84. Extremely rare franking & interesting 3d shade for Victoria specialist. 2006 Perry & 2017 Ceremuga photo-certs. (P)
