Military - WWII Australian Forces North Borneo Beaufort Area: 1945 (19 Jul) "NSA" airmail cover to Australia showing very fine FPO 035 cds used by 2/24th Battalion which finalised operations in Tarakan 20th June & headed NW 200km to Beaufort. Proud records earliest use as 11th Aug & notes that from 17th July unstamped mail could only be sent by advance units. 1945 (17 Aug) cover franked KGVI 3d brown with bold but sl blurred 035 cds, mauve 854 censor. Proud rated 1500 pts. Rare. (2 covers).
